CoE Play and Save Summer Day Camps

The Play and Save Summer Day Camps are for children ages 2 to 12 from families that are unable to afford the regular cost of many summer programs. These camps do not differ in any way from the regular priced programs, however, the City of Edmonton Community Services subsidizes the programs to make them affordable for low income families. Families who could benefit may be a family who transitioned from a reserve; new to Canada; a single parent family who works more than one job; a family with many children; a single parent family who works in a low wage sector job; and a family who may be dealing with barriers to community participation which would include not having enough money or unable to afford child care. Space is limited, so phone 311 to register.

Sherwood Community Garden

There is interest in redeveloping a portion of the Sherwood Community Park (15430 - 93 Avenue) into a garden area. A committee of volunteers is required to work in partnership with the City of Edmonton to establish, develop, govern, and manage a garden once it is built. Attend a brief 1 to 2 hour meeting each month. Sherwood and West Jasper Place resident volunteers can take on as little or as much work as they are able to.
