Developers Will be Door Knocking
We have been told that the federal government will advance funding for our West Valleyline LRT next spring. Developers will be anxious to purchase properties at a reduced rate now in West Jasper Place and Sherwood. Typically, land values increase once the LRT is operating. Our properties are centrally located; close to transit and community stores. Many have beautiful elm treed boulevards. Our multi-use trail and the short walking distance to the MacKinnon Ravine attracts active young families. Do not undersell your property! Community Standards Bylaw and Enforcement Mix and Mingle

This is an opportunity for a friendly 'mix & mingle' and an opportunity to get to know your bylaw officer and ask questions about the Community Standards Bylaw. Topics include:

- What is covered under the Community Standards Bylaw?
- Why is a ticket given? Why is a ticket not given?
- How can the MEO help you resolve your problem?
- What are the expectations for snow removal?

ONE WAY WEST TRAFFIC OPTION ON SPR
One way west option on Stony Plain Road from 149 to 156 Street will be debated at city council’s Executive Committee on October 15, 2018. This option will move the LRT to the south side of Stony Plain Road and push LRT stations further apart - 7 blocks between 150 Street Station and 100A Avenue Station on 156 Street. Since the city is proposing to remove bus service on Stony Plain Road from 149 to 156 Street, this will create difficulty for individuals with mobility challenges and young children. There will be no site and side street access to businesses on the south side of Stony Plain Road. It will eliminate the two approaches to Jasper Gates from Stony Plain Road which will probably close Domo Gas. It will create a drive through area since few LRT riders will walk the distance between stations to frequent businesses on Stony Plain Road. Many vehicles will not stop to visit the businesses on the south side of Stony Plain Road since there is no access. Redevelopment for new businesses will be questionable. Since most shops are linked together, emergency vehicles will not be able to access the front from the back alley. Fire trucks and ambulances will have to park on LRT tracks if they have to access the front of a business on the south side of Stony Plain Road. This could delay the operation of the LRT for hours.
