Children's Learn to Bike Classes

Young children's "learn to ride" program in Edmonton called Little Wheels Training is being held for children age 2 to 4+ at Athlone Community League Hall, 13010 129 Street.

Classes run on Tuesdays for 8 weeks, starting July 2, 2019. Cost is $90.

In this round, there will be three classes offered:

  • 9:30 - 10:30 Beginner [ classes for the newer or more tentative rider. ]
  • 10:30 - 11:30 Advanced [ skills is for the little cruiser who wants to do even more! ]
  • 6:00 - 7:00 mixed skills [ will be for everyone ]

All classes emphasize traffic safety and are lots of fun. Get your little one biking safely this summer.

In addition, all participants are requested to have a current community league membership.

City Of Edmonton Big Bin Event

On August 17th and 18th at 9200-163 Street, the City of Edmonton will host a Big Bin Event from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Drop off your unwanted furniture, mattresses, large household appliances, computers, televisions, etc. Items will also be accepted for the Reuse Centre. No hazardous waste such as paint, varnish, household cleaners or batteries will be accepted.


Kids on Track Summer Day Camp

Day camps for children entering grades 1-6. Each week at different locations in west Edmonton from July 8th to August 15th. Programs include character building, hands on learning, and daily field trips.

Cost: $150/week and $100/week for additional family members plus one time $10 administration fee. 50 to 100% subsidy if you qualify. Phone: 780-481-2942 or www.kidsontrack.org


Community Crime Update

In West Jasper Place, theft from a vehicle is the most common crime south of 100 Ave. Break and enter is the most common crime north of 100 Ave. There were four licence plate thefts and four break and enters reported in the last 60 days.

In Sherwood, the most common crime is theft from a vehicle. Assault is the next common crime. There were 3 thefts from a vehicle and 2 assaults reported in the last 60 days.

Councillor Knack Community Conversation

Councillor Knack has scheduled his next Community Conversation / Town Hall meeting for Tuesday, July 23, 2019, 6:30-8:00pm at the Boys & Girls Big Brothers Big Sisters West Club, 16030 104 Avenue.

The BBQ will be lit so drop by between 5:30-6:30pm for a hot dog!
