The West Jasper Sherwood Community League is looking for a resident from the neighbourhood to assist the Membership Director by engaging neighbours and building neighbourly connections. The Neighbourhood Connector will be responsible for offering free memberships, onboarding residents onto our new digital platform, and identifying "point persons" on blocks and building floors.
This part-time temporary position requires approximately 30 hours per week between now through to September 2026. The Neighbourhood Connector will be hired at $25 per hour.
Promote Free Memberships: Offer free community league membership to all households across the neighbourhood.
Digital Onboarding: Guide interested residents through our web platform to register digitally, or assist them in submitting their details online.
Identify Block Connectors: Find and recruit neighbourhood connectors (1 or 2 per block or building floor) to help maintain community ties.
Data & Tracking: Track which households you have spoken with and systematically revisit missed homes until every household has been contacted.
Confidence: Ability to approach residents and identify someone from each block to be the "point person."
Leadership: Power to motivate "point persons" to step up as active community connectors.
Organization: Strong tracking skills to ensure the entire neighbourhood is methodically connected.
Social Skills: A warm, engaging personality comfortable talking to any resident.
Community Knowledge: Familiarity with league activities, resources, and goals.
Must be a resident of the West Jasper Sherwood neighbourhood.
Know the names of your nearby neighbours.
Demonstrated community spirit (e.g., shovelled a neighbour's walk, organized a block event, or similar neighbourly experience).
Recognized as a helpful contributor to your local community.
Interested residents are asked to submit an expression of interest to the Community League as soon as possible.
