Global Pizza Party
Get ready for a delicious night of fun and community connection! Join us this Friday night, May 22, for a free pizza party at the community hall. This is a fantastic opportunity to mingle with your neighbours and enjoy some great food.
Families are warmly welcome to join the fun from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. After 7:30 PM, the atmosphere transitions to an adult-only gathering, where free alcohol will be available for those 18 and older. Come celebrate the best things in life, enjoy some great company, and have a wonderful evening!

Volunteer Opportunity: Bingo Volunteers Needed
Our community league relies on the support of amazing volunteers like you to keep our programs running. We are currently looking for volunteers to assist with our upcoming Bingo fundraiser on Sunday, May 24th, at Caesar's Bingo in West Edmonton Mall (WEM).
Volunteering for a bingo shift is a straightforward and highly impactful way to support the West Jasper Sherwood Community League (WJSCL). If you have a few hours to spare and want to help make a difference, please consider signing up!

We're Hiring: Neighbourhood Connector
Are you passionate about building community and helping your neighbours feel welcome? The West Jasper Sherwood Community League is seeking an enthusiastic local resident to join our team as a Neighbourhood Connector!
In this role, you will work closely with our Membership Director to engage local residents and foster meaningful neighbourly connections. Key responsibilities include offering free community league memberships, identifying block and building floor connectors, and compiling membership cards and community surveys.
This is a part-time, temporary position requiring approximately 30 hours per week from now through September 2026. The compensation for this role is $25 per hour. It is a fantastic opportunity to make a real, tangible impact right here in your own backyard.

Community Dinner & Creative Nights

Monthly Community Dinner
Join us on Wednesday, May 27, for our Monthly Community Dinner! This month, we are serving up a comforting meal of shepherd's pie, fresh salad, dinner rolls, and a delicious cheesecake for dessert. It is the perfect mid-week break to enjoy a hot meal and warm conversation with your fellow community members.

Adult Art Nights
Unleash your inner artist at our Adult Art Nights! Hosted at the Sherwood Building, these sessions offer a relaxed, creative space to paint, sketch, and connect with other local creatives. Whether you are an experienced artist or just looking to try something new, all skill levels are welcome.

Kid Craft Night: Explore & Create
Let your children's imaginations run wild! Our Kid Craft Night: Explore & Create is held on the second Thursday of every month at the Sherwood Building. It is a fun, hands-on space for kids to experiment with different crafts and make new friends.

Overtime Athletics Sports Spectacular
Our Sports Spectacular program with Overtime Athletics is in full swing! This program is a high-energy way for kids to stay active, learn new sports skills, and enjoy cooperative games.

Shogun Jiu-Jitsu
Interested in martial arts? Shogun Jiu-Jitsu offers excellent classes for both youth and adults. Sessions take place on Tuesdays at the West Jasper Place Community League. It is a wonderful way to build confidence, learn self-defense, and improve physical fitness in a supportive environment.

Parents and Kids Club
Looking for a fun, casual space to connect with other local parents while your little ones play? The Parents and Kids Club is a welcoming program where children can build, play, and explore with colourful wooden blocks and other engaging toys while parents share tips and friendly conversation.

Board Game Club
Wrap up your weekend with some friendly competition! The Board Game Club meets every Sunday evening from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Whether you love strategic tabletop games, classic card games, or quick party games, come join us for a fun and social night.
