March Community Dinner
In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day and a little bit of Irish luck, we are thrilled to invite you to this month’s free community dinner on Thursday, March 26th. Our menu features a comforting spread of Irish Beef Stew, a hearty Irish White Bean and Cabbage Stew, fresh soda biscuits, and a decadent Irish Apple Cake with custard sauce for dessert.
Doors open at 5:30 pm, providing a great opportunity to learn more about our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) and various volunteer roles available within the league. Dinner will be served promptly at 6:00 pm. Come hungry and enjoy an evening with your neighbors!
Energy Affordability Edmonton Workshop
Are you a renter aged 18 or older living in Edmonton? If you have been feeling the pinch of rising utility costs, researchers from NorQuest College want to hear from you. They are conducting a vital study to understand the challenges renters face in accessing affordable utilities and the barriers to reducing household energy expenses.
We invite you to join us for a two-hour session at the West Jasper Sherwood Community League on April 2nd, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. During the workshop, you will complete a consent form and a survey, and participate in an engaging focus group. As a bonus, NorQuest students will be on-site to help you review your utility bills and offer personalized energy-saving tips, so feel free to bring a copy of your recent bill along.
To thank you for your time, every participant will receive a $30 gift card. Refreshments and childcare will be provided to make it easier for everyone to attend. All research data collected will be strictly anonymized. You can register for the workshop here.
April Movie Matinee
Looking ahead to next month, mark your calendars for our family movie afternoon on Sunday, April 12th. Showtime begins at 2:00 pm at the hall. It is the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon with the kids—we will provide the popcorn and the fun!
