This is a fantastic opportunity to hear directly from those seeking to represent our interests at City Hall.

Community Champions Relaunch
The Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL) is bringing back their monthly Community Champions meetings! These gatherings are designed to build stronger bonds across our city by sharing innovative ideas and brainstorming solutions to local challenges.
The next meeting takes place on Thursday, October 9th, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the West Jasper Sherwood Community League (9620 152 Street NW).
You can find more details and register for the October session here. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to Melissa Campbell at melissa.campbell@efcl.org.
Before you attend, the EFCL invites you to think about:
If you had unlimited resources, what is one thing you would do to increase the sense of belonging in your neighborhood?
Who else in your community is a "Champion" that might want to join the conversation?
Problem Property Initiative
Our neighborhood is currently a focus area for the City of Edmonton’s Problem Property Initiative (PPI). This program works to address private properties that negatively impact the safety or well-being of the surrounding community. Whether it's securing unsafe buildings or upholding housing standards, the PPI teams are working to improve our streets. To learn how to identify or report a problem property, view the PPI One Pager here.
Dinner and Speaker Series: Personal Finances
Join us for an informative session focused on financial wellness. Whether you are looking to sharpen your budgeting skills or plan for the future, this workshop is a great place to start.

Community League Day: September 20
Get ready to celebrate! The annual EFCL Community League Day is just around the corner on September 20, 2025. We have a full day of activities planned at the West Jasper Sherwood Community League Hall.

Family Fun (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM): Bring the kids for a bouncy castle, snow cones, and lawn games. Don't forget to visit our 'Waste Nothing, Buy Nothing' Trade Table to find some treasures or rehome your gently used items.
Pub Night (7:00 PM – 10:00 PM): Once the sun goes down, it’s time for the adults to play! We’ll have live music from country-rock duo Calan & Cole and craft beer from Bent Stick Brewing Co..
Your first beer is on us (additional cans are $5), and we’ll have wine, hamburgers, chicken wings, and strips available for purchase. Come out for a night of dancing, darts, and cards. Plus, stop by the Membership Table for a chance to win a $100 door prize!
