Spring is in the air, and we have plenty of exciting updates and events happening around the West Jasper Sherwood Community League. From our furry friends to our youngest residents, there is something for everyone to get involved in this season.
Dog Park Updates
The fenced tennis area continues to serve as our designated dog park for now. However, as the snow melts, we are preparing to transition back to the rink for the summer season. We expect this move to happen around April 20th, and we will provide a firm update as soon as the switch is official.
Are you passionate about keeping our dog park clean and awesome? We are looking for volunteers to join our Dog Park Committee! If you're interested in helping maintain this great community asset, please email josh@westjaspersherwood.ca.
Dog Park Opening Party: Rescheduled!
Due to recent poor weather, we have moved our celebration to Monday, May 6th from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Come down to the dog park to meet your neighbours and enjoy some snacks and drinks for the humans, while the dogs enjoy some outdoor fun. We will be taking Polaroid pictures of your furry friends for our new "Dogs of WJSCL" project. We will also be sharing details about upcoming improvements we hope to make to the space throughout the year.
Join Our Gardening Committee
Do you have a green thumb or a desire to help beautify our neighborhood? We are looking for members to join our Gardening Committee. To get involved, please reach out to contact@westjaspersherwood.ca.
Kids and Parents Group
In partnership with the Jasper Place Family Resource Centre, the West Jasper Sherwood Community League hosts a weekly gathering for families every Thursday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
This program offers activities specifically designed for children ages 0-10, while parents can enjoy refreshments and connect with one another. Facilitators from the Family Resource Network and league board members will be on hand to offer helpful resources and support. Please note that this is not a drop-off program; parents must stay with their children. There is a small intake form to complete on your first visit, and everyone is welcome!
2024 AGM and Community Dinner: April 25th
Please join us for our Annual General Meeting and Community Dinner at the League Hall on April 25th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
