Welcome to our latest community update! We have a busy season ahead with plenty of opportunities to get involved, have some fun, and keep our neighborhood looking its best.
Bylaw Enforcement Committee
Are you concerned about properties that continually violate the Community Standards Bylaw? We are looking for dedicated residents to join our community league’s Bylaw Enforcement Committee. By working together, we can ensure the city effectively addresses nuisance properties and bylaw offenders that devalue our beautiful neighborhood. If you are interested in helping us maintain our community standards, please contact Irene at 780-489-2994.

Community Standards Bylaw
As we head into the summer months, please be aware that Bylaw officers will be regularly patrolling our community. To help keep our neighborhood safe and attractive, please ensure your property complies with Bylaw 14600. Fines may be imposed for the following infractions:
- Yard Maintenance: Grass or weeds must be kept under 10 cm (4 inches). Remember, residents are responsible for maintaining city property adjacent to their land, including boulevards and the land beside the alley.
- Property Appearance: Graffiti must not be visible from surrounding properties. Buildings should be well-maintained and free of signs of neglect.
- Debris & Storage: Avoid excessive accumulation of materials like building supplies, appliances, tires, or garbage. Damaged or derelict vehicles must not be kept on the property.
- Trees & Vegetation: Ensure shrubs and trees do not obstruct sidewalks or impair traffic visibility at intersections. Note that Elm wood must be disposed of at authorized locations.
- Nuisances: Fire pits should not create excessive smoke or odor.
- Construction Rules: Projects must be completed within 5 years of the permit date. Construction noise is restricted on Sundays/Holidays (only between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.) and weekdays (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.).
- Parking & Weeds: Commercial vehicles over 4,500 kg or 12.5 meters in length may not park in residential areas, and yards must remain free of noxious weeds as per the Alberta Weed Control Act.
